The Biggest Bracelet Winners of the WSOP

If you know anything about poker and more specifically about the WSOP then you probably already know who the biggest all time WSOP Bracelet winner is. In fact, Phil Hellmuth Jr. who holds 11 bracelets from various events and years in the WSOP will tell anyone who talks to him that he is indeed the WSOP bracelet leader. There is no secret in the poker world that he thinks he is the best, and honestly there is not much to disagree about there. He may be a "trash talker" by some accounts, but the fact is he earned 11 bracelets which is more than any other player ever. However, the race to be the all time bracelet winner certainly isn't over by any account. Hot on his heels are players such as Doyle Brunson, Erik Seidel, and Johnny Chan to name a few.

Hellmuth though certainly isn't going anywhere either. His first bracelet was won in 1989 when he became the youngest winner to win the WSOP main event. Netting $755,000 in winnings, Hellmuth was the star of the show. Although all of his bracelets have come in Hold'em he has won them in limit and pot-limit as well as in no-limit events. The latest win for Phil was in 2006 when he won a no-limit Hold'em bracelet in an event that featured re-buys.

With 10 WSOP bracelets Doyle Brunson certainly is giving him a run for his money. Doyle won his first bracelet in 1976 when he won the $5000 Deuce to Seven Draw event, one of the newer events in that year. It was also in 1976 when Doyle also won the premiere Main Event which he followed up by a second Main Event the next year. The key to Doyle's success in the bracelet department is the fact that he is skilled at many different games besides Hold'em. His bracelets have come in events such as mixed doubles, HORSE, seven card razz, seven card stud, seven card stud split as well as the deuce to seven draw previously mentioned. He may not be the leader with the most bracelets but he certainly is one of the most diverse poker players in the world.

Johnny Chan also has several years left to go to catch up to Hellmuth's amount of bracelets. With 9 already, Johnny Chan is also a varied player. Winning his first one in the $1000 limit Hold'em event in 1985 he also went on to win back to back Main Event bracelets in 1987 and 1988. After that his bracelets came with events in seven card stud, no-limit deuce to seven draw, as well as pot-limit Omaha and several other no-limit Hold'em events.

Lastly you have Erik Seidel who it seems still hasn't reached his peak yet. Year after year he consistently makes final tables and puts on a great showing at almost any event he enters. Also one of the most diverse players in WSOP history, Erik Seidel won his first bracelet in 1992 in a $2500 limit Hold'em event but then went on to win bracelets in no-limit Hold'em, no-limit deuce to seven draw lowball with re-buys, as well as Omaha eight or better, deuce to seven draw regular, and regular Omaha.
